How Aussie! We’re eating at the Surf Club.
View from our apartment.
Quick morning update. We got into Brisbane airport at 6.15 this morning (8.15pm on Tuesday in the UK).
We’ve hired a car and driven an hour and a half up the Sunshine Coast to Noosa Heads.
Charming little seaside town. Just about to have breakfast (10am).

Breakfast in Noosa Junction.

Town clock in Noosa.
We’ve had a fairly relaxed day so far. Late breakfast, mooch to the Bugis St market (not quite what I was expecting), late checkout.
We’re having late lunch by Marina Bay now. In about an hour and a half, we get our transfer to Singapore Changi airport for our through-the-night flight onto Brisbane arriving around 7am local time.

P.S. Temperature has been in the mid 30s Celsius today. Hot!

Enjoying a frappacino and free WiFi looking out over the bay…lovely afternoon
We got up rather late (jet lag and very little sleep on the planes does that for you…), but spent a long afternoon into the evening exploring the Marina Bay area. A lot of this is new development where a barrage has been added and lots of new buildings in the area, such as
part of the Singapore Youth Olympics park (the football pitch/opening and closing ceremony area is a floating pontoon),
a large theatre complex,
a huge, very modern shipping mall (catering mainly for higher-end shops)
and a big park area with indoor botanic gardens and the outside ‘Super Trees’ which ‘perform’ twice each evening, with both light and music.
We hadn’t been that sure what to make of Singapore from what we saw when arriving, but we thoroughly enjoyed today.
