Friday 7th November: Noosa to Brisbane

We left Noosa after breakfast and had a gentle drive down the coast road, seeing various places along the Sunshine Coast before arriving into Brisbane around lunchtime and promptly getting lost (even following the SatNav instructions we ended up going a very long loop around the city before we found the hotel).
We had a picnic lunch and explore in the Botanic Gardens (which our hotel room overlooks) before taking a gentle stroll around some parts of the city centre, taking in the real mix of old and new architecture. The city is currently gearing up for the G20 summit which takes place here next weekend (glad we got here a week earlier!).
Tea this evening was at a Buddhist-run vegetarian cafe up some dubious-looking stairs leading above a shopping centre, but the food was great value ($12.90 or about £9) for an all-you-can-eat main course, dessert and drink. Tasted good too.
Rob went back to the hotel to chill while I went for a wander along the City Reach Boardwalk along the riverside, taking in the views, including the lit-up bridge.

Thursday 6th November: Noosa

We both needed a quieter day today as the jet lag caught up with us again (and I’ve got a heavy cold).
We had a gentle mooch into Noosa Junction for breakfast and a leisurely late morning/afternoon around the apartment.
We’ve had a stroll along Noosa sands in daylight, including paddling in the Pacific Ocean before going to get a takeout pizza.
Off to Brisbane tomorrow!
